The life of faith often contains seasons of waiting. When we find ourselves in the depths, we may have to wade in those waters for a time. Mercy means that God’s steadfast and eternal love meets us in the very depths from which we cry.

Across the entire Bible God calls Himself our Shepherd. Coming from a culture where shepherds and sheep are not as common, we can quickly glance over this concept. However, this is a rich and wonderful description of our Lord and it reveals a lot about ourselves.

Dear Jesus, help us not to focus on the benefits in this world, but always have our focus on the benefits to your heavenly kingdom. In all that we do, help us to be kind because it benefits your kingdom and that, in turn, encourages our hearts to be more like yours. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Grief in marriage can come from painful changes, unmet expectations, or watching your spouse become someone different due to illness, hardship, or emotional struggles. It's okay to grieve what has changed while trusting God to bring comfort and peace in the middle of the pain.
