At this time of the year, it is out with the old and in with the new. For some of us, we send off 2023 with a sentiment of good riddance.
I am encouraged and hopeful for the year ahead as the new year arrives. In 2023, we were all trying to get back on track from the inflation tax and woke policies that threatened the core of our nation’s belief system.
In the coming year, we must diligently defend the values that made America Great.
In 2024, we must focus on the fact that life’s storms do not have to define our future.
Overcoming challenges is part of the American Spirit and God’s way of taking us into a deeper relationship with him in our life’s journey.
We know not what awaits us with the next sunrise. But today is a day of new beginnings for you, your loved ones, and your friends.
Let us all go forth boldly into 2024.
Bill Bunkley is an 18-year veteran Salem Media talk show host based in Tampa. The Bill Bunkley Show airs weekdays across central Florida from 3 to 6 pm. Bill is also President of the Florida Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, which serves as the legislative consultant to the Florida Baptist State Convention (Southern Baptist Convention Churches), among other churches and entities. He has served as the legislative consultant to the Florida Baptist State Convention for the last 28 years at the state capitol in Tallahassee. By the Grace of his Lord Jesus, he is today a cancer survivor diagnosed in 2018 with AML Leukemia, having successfully undergone a bone marrow transplant that same year. His wife is Toni, son is Zac, and they attend Idlewild Baptist Church.
