Today, it is out with the old and in with the new.

I am encouraged and hopeful for the days ahead as the new year arrives. In early 2025, we were adjusting to a new President, lingering high inflation from the previous administration, record numbers of illegal aliens, and woke policies, only to witness vast improvements in all areas by year’s end, courtesy of President Trump.

Moving forward, we must diligently defend the values that made America Great.

Remember, the storms in your life do not have to define your future.

Overcoming challenges is the American Spirit and of God’s way of drawing us into a deeper relationship with him on our life’s journey.

We know not what awaits us with the next sunrise. But today is a day of new beginnings for you, your loved ones, and your friends. 

Let us move boldly into 2026.

Bill Bunkley is a 20-year veteran Salem Media talk show host based in Tampa. The Bill Bunkley Show airs on weekdays from 3 to 5 pm across central Florida. Bill is also President of the Florida Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission and the legislative consultant to the Florida Baptist State Convention (Southern Baptist Convention Churches), among other churches and entities. He has served as the legislative consultant to the Florida Baptist State Convention for the last 30 years at the state capitol in Tallahassee. By the Grace of his Lord Jesus, he is a cancer survivor diagnosed in 2018 with AML Leukemia, having successfully undergone a bone marrow transplant that same year. In 2025, he underwent successful open-heart surgery to repair a heart valve. His wife is Toni, his son is Zac, and he attends Idlewild Baptist Church.
