Happy New Year fellow sojourners!
2019 arrived with the time-honored Robert Burns 1788 classic “Auld Lang Syne.”
What’s interesting is millions who sang the Scottish classic Monday night don’t have any idea what its lyrics of close friendships is conveying, that is, “We’ll drink a cup of friendship yet for times gone by.”
Years ago my wife Toni and I experienced a traditional Scottish New Year Celebration with good friends in Dunfermline, Scotland. That visit and the “Auld Lang Syne” midnight toast is still a cherished memory.
But that friendly camaraderie is a far cry from what we are about to witness starting tomorrow between Team Trump and the Pelosi/Schumer obstruction machine.
Instead of a friendship theme when Congress returns tomorrow, it’ll be “Let’s Get Ready To Rumble.”
