Welcome to 2021. It looks like it will be known as a year of endurance.
At this time of the year, it is out with the old in with the new. For most of us, we sent off 2020 with a sentiment of good riddance.
As I return to the air today, I come encouraged and hopeful for the year ahead. In 2020 we were all caught off-guard with what would be known as COVID-19 and a disaster of a Presidential election. We were ill-prepared to deal with the crippling effects of both that metastasized as time moved forward.
In 2021 we must maintain our focus on the fact these storms do not have to define our futures. Overcoming challenges is not only part of the American Spirit, but God’s way of taking into a deeper relationship with him in our life’s journey.
Let us go forth boldly into 2021.
Bill Bunkley is a 15-year veteran Salem Radio talk show host based in west-central Florida, airing weekdays 3 to 6 PM. Bill is also President of the Florida Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, which serves as legislative consultant to the Florida Baptist State Convention (Southern Baptist Churches throughout Florida), among other churches and entities. He has served as legislative consultant to the Convention for the last 24 years at the state capitol in Tallahassee.
