The annual ritual begins Tuesday morning in Tallahassee: The annual 60-day session of the Florida Legislature.
Between now and the stroke of midnight Monday night, the “Cash Cow” conga line will be in full swing as special interest groups, businesses, and individuals hand off mounds of contributions to our state lawmakers. That’s because legislators are not permitted to accept campaign contributions during the session. It’s a mad dash to make a fresh impression on legislators just before they start voting.
Both the Republicans and Democrats will have big shindigs for those who want to curry favor.
Watch all the pro-gambling groups of various interests. I bet they’ll drop more cash than any other group as their goal is to wallpaper the state with all manner of gambling.
