It’s Tallahassee time for legislators, lobbyists, and advocates making their way to the capitol for tomorrow’s opening day of the 2020 Legislative Session.
Tallahassee’s population mushrooms, hotels, and restaurants rake in the revenue.
The big deal is tonight’s huge outdoor annual “Welcome Back” shindig hosted by Associated Industries of Florida.
Lobbyists and advocates will pay $25 each to hobnob with the Governor, Cabinet members and legislators. But for most $25 is only the beginning of the cash they’ll be dropping.
That’s because campaign contributions cease at midnight as fundraising is not allowed while in session.
Thousands of dollars will be hand-delivered to legislators tonight just in time to carry a little favor with elected pols.
Tomorrow, the game begins.
