Bill Bunkley with Something to Think About

For the first time, many Americans tuned in live to the opening day of the U.S. Senate confirmation hearings for President-Elect Trump’s Cabinet selections.

Trump’s populism and clear mandate from the American people drew many to watch the Capitol Hill confirmation circus.

And many, including many who have served our country honorably in the armed forces, experienced an eye-opening experience.

Secretary of Defense nominee Pete Hegseth received the grilling of his lifetime. I applaud his willingness to endure a ruthless and desperate gauntlet by Senate Democrats masquerading as the country’s moral police.

It was laughable.

But Pete’s courageous acknowledgment of Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in the hearing was particularly courageous, given our current cultural hostility to people of faith.

Hegseth deserves confirmation.
