“Amendment 4 Now Ready for November 2018”

Bill Bunkley With Something To Think About

Clearwater’s Floridians for a Fair Democracy, backed by state Democrat operatives, are celebrating a victory that they expect will add voters to their party if adopted by Florida voters.

Currently, there are 1.5 million convicted Florida felons who cannot vote in any election, run for office or serve on a jury for life.

Right now if a convicted felon wishes to regain their voting rights they have to wait five years after their release to file a petition and go through a formal hearing process to get back their right to vote.

A proposed constitutional amendment, Amendment 4, just qualified by petition to appear on the November ballot that if approved by 60% of those voting, would provide for automatic restoration of felon’s voting rights, excluding convicted murderers and sex crimes felons.

Most are expected to register as Democrats.
