The Census Bureau, with the official census day soon upon us, estimates there are 21.8 million people in Florida, 3rd in the nation.
900 plus people are moving to our sunshine state every day! We’ll add from 2 to 3 new seats in Congress after the 2020 census results.
But the remarkable news in all this is Florida’s unemployment rate.
Record keeping for Florida’s unemployment rate goes back to 1976. So, it was huge news when our December unemployment rate dropped down to 3%.
That number beat the nation’s December unemployment number at 3.5%.
Our state added 16,000 jobs in last month. Our total workforce is 10.5 million, with only 311,000 unemployed.
So, I wonder in this Presidential election year, will we witness Florida’s unemployment dip down in the 2% plus range?
