“Florida Abortion Constitutional Amendment Will Get Supreme Court Review”

A proposed Florida constitutional amendment that allows abortions until the unborn baby is viable, which is not defined and subject to expansive interpretation, has gathered the required certified Florida voter signatures to place the death penalty for babies on the 2024 ballot.
The amendment doesn’t define the health of the mother or what qualifies as a health-related provider. The health exception allows an abortion up to birth for possibly a headache, and a health-related provider could be an abortion staffer, not a doctor.
The amendment is deceptively, poorly worded, intentionally unspecific, leaving it up to a judge later to decide how broadly to interpret the language.
On February 7th, the Florida Supreme Court will consider the amendment language.
The Supreme Court should disapprove the language and keep it off the ballot.
