President Trump and China need a trade deal.
Obtaining a trade deal with China is a Trump priority. American’s indeed buy a lot of “stuff” from China and the prices they pay do matter.
So do cost of materials for our manufacturers.
The China trade issue sparked a stock market selloff this week when an administration official told a CNBC reporter that a trade meeting between Trump and Chinese President Xi was “highly unlikely” before the trade talks deadline of March 1.
President Trump will be in Vietnam later this month meeting with North Korean President Kim Jong Un, but probably will not head on to China from there because Chief Economic Advisor Larry Kudlow said a China trade deal had a “pretty sizeable distance to get there.”
Failing to get a trade deal is not an option.
