“Boy Scout’s Sex Abuse Cases Forces Bankruptcy Filing”

Bill Bunkley with Something to Think About

The 110-year-old Boy Scouts of America filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection after thousands of men have accused the BSA of being sexually abused while participating in scouting activities.

The question is, can the Boy Scouts remain viable in the face of the massive dollars they expect to pay out in the form of victim compensation.

Because many states have extended their sexual abuse statute of limitations, scores of additional alleged victims are now coming forward.

As an Eagle Scout and volunteer staff leader to numerous National and World Jamborees around the globe for over 40 years, I am deeply saddened.

It is shameful these abuses were covered up for decades by the professional BSA executives.

I support fair compensation of legitimate cases of sex abuse.
