With three major U. S. military commands already based in Florida, Central Command, Special Forces Command, and U. S. Southern Command, Governor Ron DeSantis is requesting more.

The governor wants the home of President Trump’s “Space Force Combatant Command” to make its home here at the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral.

He is sending his official request to his good friend President Donald Trump. Although it will not begin as a separate command like Florida’s existing stand-alone commands, plans by the President for just a command, Space Force, is on his wish list.

Given the long history, facilities and personnel already in place at the Kennedy Space Center, it would make be a good use of federal taxpayers’ dollars to locate the new division on Florida’s east coast.

And I’m all for it.
