After a rambling, incoherent speech, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced he was sending "peacekeepers" into areas of Ukraine populated by Russian-speaking residents.
Peacekeepers? Now that’s the oxymoron of all oxymorons.
The steely 15-year former KGB foreign intelligence officer is moving ahead with his dream to reunite with the former Easter Block of the Soviet Union.
And Putin sees this as his perfect opportunity. Timing is everything.
Europe is in the dead of winter and depends on Russia's energy resources. Add to that the European Union is too divided and weak to stand up to Putin. NATO’s will is too soft as well.
And what about America? President Biden?
Putin has no concern, no fear of Biden.
America is quickly losing its resolve, its superpower status.
