Florida is in the nuclear crosshairs.

In a video during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s annual state of the nation address in Moscow, multiple strategic nuclear weapons were shown inbound to the center of our Florida peninsula.

Putin’s address showcased his assertion that his country now can now launch nuclear-powered cruise missiles, nuclear-powered underwater drones, and new hypersonic missiles.

So is the U. S. now in a new arms race? And why show inbound missiles targeting central Florida?

Well, I don’t think Putin’s goal was to target our theme parks in Kissimmee.

No, with both U. S. Special Operations Command and U. S. Central Command headquartered right here in Tampa, it’s clear to me who this video was targeting.

And while we may forget or take for granted our local neighbors who staff these two most important commands, others certainly have not.
