In my over two decades of professional work in Tallahassee during many legislative sessions, this has been a session to remember.
Inappropriate marital affairs and sexual harassment cost two state senators their seats.
That alone was a major distraction until the Parkland massacre rebooted everything, as so it should.
Through it all both chambers managed to cobble together a response to Parkland, agree on an annual budget, but are potentially leaving many other important issues to die.
But as these issues may well fail, the Florida Senate majority, as usual, has its priority on one last shot at expanding state-sanctioned gambling.
With the voters set to take back control of those gambling expansion duties come November, the Florida House should keep their commitment to seeing that gambling expansion doesn’t happen on their watch these last final days.
