Now that the legislative session is over the next big political event is the August primary, then the big November ballot.

Two driving issues will be how the President Donald Trump effect plays out and the candidate's stance on guns. Depending on where candidates are located will have much to do with how each of these issues plays out.

Then you have the Florida Constitutional Amendment issues. The Constitutional Revision Commission is deciding which and how many issues they will put forward on the November ballot. There could be a lot, and if so, the sheer number of issues a voter has to plow through will impact voting. Too many candidates and issues and voters will leave blank spaces on their ballots.

But until then, get ready for a record-breaking season of negative campaign ads.
