“Cop Killers and the Death Penalty”
Bill Bunkley with Today’s Something To Think About
When a police officer is gunned down in Florida, the death penalty is an option.
Unfortunately newly elected Orange and Osceola County State Attorney Aramis Ayala doesn’t agree. She would not seek the death penalty in the case of Markeith Loyd, accused of killing Orlando police Lt. Debra Clayton back on Jan. 9.
In fact, Ayala will not seek the death penalty in ANY capital murder case.
It must be noted that left-wing billionaire George Soros underwrote Ayala’s recent election campaign to the tune of $1.4 million, also opposes the death penalty.
Pinellas-Pasco State Attorney Bernie McCabe is correct. The killing of a police officer warrants the death penalty as an “automatic aggravator.”
Governor Rick Scott swiftly and correctly pulled Ayala off the case, and Lake County State Attorney Brad King will now direct the prosecution.
