The moment has finally arrived that was at the epicenter of the Presidential election.
It began when Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia unexpectedly passed away, and the country realized the reality of the remaining aging members of the ideologically split court.
So the fight was on, and in the end, it was the victor President Trump who put forth his choice of Judge Neil Gorsuch for the long-awaited Senate confirmation hearing.
Day one of the hearing seemed strange to me for I can remember when it was taboo and outside the line to question a Supreme Court nominee about how he or she would rule in certain cases.
For Gorsuch, how he would rule in future cases was THE line of questioning by Democrat Senators.
And that transformation sadly illustrates the new normal of the politicized high court.
