On the first year anniversary of the ISIS attack on the Brussel’s International Airport, a lone maunder inspired by ISIS propaganda went on a killing spree on central London’s Westminster Bridge. The terrorist used a car to mow down pedestrians, a gun to shoot down others, and a knife to stab an armed police officer to death defending Britain’s Parliament.
The horrific scene unfolded on the historic bridge that lies just beneath the shadow of Big Ben; immediately recognizable to millions around the globe who have themselves walked across that same bridge as tourists.
That’s why this high-profile, symbolic target was selected in the first place. And it is this type of random street terror that’s almost impossible to stop.
Clearly, the West is at war with these radicals, and it is a war that must be won.
