It is amazing to watch critics opine during a major crisis. Everybody’s an expert. Everybody has a better mousetrap. Anybody could have easily handled the crises better. What a poor job he or she is doing.
Now don’t get me wrong. Partisan critics are necessary, just not at the height of a major crisis.
In this age where politics and partisanship infect everything, the ensuing contagion is a putrid aroma that surrounds us all.
Most critics are rarely an expert in the area of the crises. When they are, we should listen.
But beware when crises criticism comes from a political bias. Those critics claim to be experts in everything, but in reality, are experts in nothing.
Stand behind our leaders during a crisis, criticism can come later. Political distractions are unnecessary.
Bill Bunkley is a 14-year veteran Salem Radio Network talk show host based in west-central Florida, airing weekdays 3 to 6 PM. Bill is also President of the Florida Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, which serves as legislative consultant to the Florida Baptist State Convention (Southern Baptist Churches throughout Florida), among other churches and entities. He has served as legislative consultant to the Convention for the last 24 years at the state capitol in Tallahassee.
