Yesterday was time to play baseball for real and Tropicana Field is still the place where the Tampa Bay Rays will demonstrate their round ball prowess.
We are fortunate that the Rays compete in the American League East with the legendary New York Yankees and the World Series champs Boston Red Sox.
The national buzz is that our division will be exclusively about the Sox’s and Yank’s but I see it differently.
One would be foolish to discount the Rays not being a legitimate third contender.
If our Cy Young winner Blake Snell can replicate his numbers of last year, plus the creativity of our hometown manager Kevin Cash and the most talented minor league farm team in all of baseball, we will more than compete.
Look for the Rays to frustrate both Boston and Yankee fans all season long.
