“Florida Marijuana Edibles - A Public-School Menace”

Today’s commentary is one of those “I told you so moments.”

Along with the incremental legal use of marijuana in Florida, as predicted, pot edibles in public schools are now a significant concern for law enforcement across the state.

I warned about underage kids getting into mom and dad’s stash while speculating to a greater degree of the youngsters getting into grandma and granddad’s inventory laying around their house unguarded. Cannabis candy edibles were a specific concern.

A big problem is parents do not recognize edible candy wrappers. The package’s design is to look like other regular candies.

In particular, look out for the Gummies, Skittles, and Warheads’ pot wrappers.

It’s pathetic marijuana candy makers would target and market to our vulnerable, under-aged children.
