A modern day showdown at the OK Corral is set between Senate Republicans and Democrats.
The eminently qualified, previously confirmed judge of the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals Neil Gorsuch will be voted upon to become our next Supreme Court Justice.
So what will Senate Democrats choose: Filibuster politics or smart politics?
Filibuster and the Republicans come down hard with the rule change invoking the “nuclear option.”
Bizarre isn’t it that a simple majority of 51 votes in the Senate is nuanced as nuclear in nature.
A Gorsuch filibuster now resulting in the deployment of the nuclear option, would automatically lower the bar for President Trump’s next Supreme Court pick, the one that would tilt the court to the right.
If Democrats are smart, they’ll vote to confirm Judge Gorsuch now and save their filibuster for Trump’s next nominee.
