Tonight at sundown Passover begins. It marks the moment Jews in bondage in Egypt were to sacrifice a young lamb or goat, taking the blood and smearing it around their door frames so God’s Angel of Death would not enter their homes.
As the Jews hunkered down in their homes, God’s dark plague of death rolled across the land, killing all of Egypt’s firstborn children as well as their firstborn animals.
As you and I hunker down in our homes tonight, let’s remember that faithful Passover evening when God spared the Jews in their protected homes. Isn’t it ironic that tonight’s Passover will be celebrated similarly in our homes, as God is protecting us today from the coronavirus plague all around us?
In both instances, to God be the Glory, great things he has done.
