“The Florida Trial Lawyers Relief Act”

The Florida House is proposing to bow the knee to the state’s trial lawyers by repealing Florida’s no-fault auto insurance known as PIP, which has been unchanged from the 1970s.
Supporting legislation pushed by the trial lawyers is usually something liberal Democrats can be counted on 100% to support. But if House Republicans get their way, you will have much higher auto insurance premiums and many more lawsuits, something trial lawyers would relish and profit from.
If passed, more accidents would result in more expensive lawsuits. That’s why I call the legislation the Trial Lawyers Relief Act.
Fortunately, in the Florida Senate, a similar bill has not moved.
If you don’t want your auto insurance rates to rise higher than they already have, call or email your state Senator and House member and tell them NOT to approve the PIP removal bill.
