The Pinellas, Manatee, and Sarasota Gulf Coast beaches have all opened. It’s a moment I have long waited for since the “Stay at Home” order was issued and access to the white sands prohibited.
As been our family tradition for years, we ventured to one of our treasured spots after the conclusion of my show to get outdoors and marvel at God’s creation, and His special sunset that we get blessed by regularly.
Being on the Gulf reminded me back when I was first able to return to the beach after many months of my leukemia treatment at the Moffitt Cancer Center. Then and now, being cooped up indoors on both occasions only made the outdoor moments at the beach an extra special blessing.
Today is a gift from God, no matter our circumstances.

Bill Bunkley is a 14-year veteran Salem Radio Network talk show host based in west-central Florida, airing weekdays 3 to 6 PM. Bill is also President of the Florida Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, which serves as legislative consultant to the Florida Baptist State Convention (Southern Baptist Churches throughout Florida), among other churches and entities.
