“NY Governor Cuomo to Out-of-State COVID-19 Health Care Saints: Pay Up”
Bill Bunkley with Something to Think About
There are many ways to show appreciation when another goes way beyond the normal call of duty to help in an emergency, especially when one puts their own life at risk to save others.
The Governor of New York Andrew Cuomo has demonstrated he is clueless when it comes to showing appreciation.
He unceremoniously announced that the health care heroes who came to New York, like those of Franklin Graham’s ministry Samaritan’s Purse who set up hospital tents in New York City’s Central Park, will have to pay state income taxes as a privilege for helping out.
Combined, New York and New York City income taxes range from approximately 7 to 12%!
Instead of petitioning the New York State Legislature to grant an exemption, he told the healthcare workers to pay up.
That’s just wrong.
