I’m Bill Bunkley with Something To Think About.

Now that the legislative session is over, Governor Rick Scott gets the next move with the power to veto last minute legislation, line items in the budget, or the entire budget itself.   

Meanwhile, for many who play in Tallahassee’s political sandbox, “Repercussion” is the best word to describe their plight.   

That’s because no one is immune from the session’s negative repercussions: Not the legislators, the lobbyists, the special interests, the nonprofits nor you, the people of Florida.

Many of the votes by legislators will be the basis of future attack ads. Lobbyists will be caned by their clients for failure to deliver. Special interests watched their issue go up in smoke while charities scramble to find alternative sources of funding.

It’s an annual contest of winners and losers. And the final round of repercussions is yet to be determined.
