I’m Bill Bunkley with Something To Think About.

The ink didn’t have time to dry on the proposed annual budget before both leaders of the Florida Senate and House were talking about bringing their members back to Tallahassee for more deliberations.

Florida Senate President Joe Negron and Speaker of the House Richard Corcoran are both talking about calling a special session to finish hammering out the implementation specifics for the voter-approved Florida Constitutional Amendment 2 regarding Medical Marijuana.

If the legislature doesn’t reconvene, Florida’s Department of Health will exercise their authority to set the grower, dispensary and user regulations.

But don’t look for the medical marijuana issue to be the only topic listed on the official summer call for a special session. With growing speculation regarding potential budget vetoes by Governor Rick Scott, overriding those vetoes could be the coheadliner at the summer clash of the Florida Titans.
