I’m Bill Bunkley with Something To Think About.
Sunday President Trump’s delegation was met by Saudi Arabia’s King Salman at the airport, something that didn’t happen with President Obama’s visit.
That spoke volumes about what was to come.
President Trump addressed 50 Arab country leaders calling on them all to join the international fight against terrorism. He also inked multi-billion dollar military arms deal with the Saudi’s.
Monday at Israel’s airport, Trump was greeted by Israeli President Reuven Rivlin, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and their wives. The Trumps then toured the Church of the Holy Sepulcher and the Western Wall, where Trump commented that he was deeply moved and that he would never forget his time there.
At the Prime Minister’s residence, the President remarked what many have said, that achieving peace with the Palestinians “is the toughest deal of all.”
I agree. Negotiating it marks Middle East history in the making.
