Bill Bunkley here with Something To Think About
Memorial Day in America.
It marks a solemn tradition with southern roots dating back to the post-Civil War era. Formerly known as Decoration Day, it was a day when Confederate Flags and flowers decorated the graves of soldiers of the southern army.
It’s a day we honor the extraordinary heroes who understood the virtues of freedom and loyalty to country.
Duty, Honor, and Sacrifice; the hallmarks that describe these heroes.
Be thankful for those who fought and died for America and for those who are still willing to defend and to pay the ultimate sacrifice if necessary.
May God comfort those families today who grieve the loss of their hero.
For many, it was their husband or wife, their daddy or mommy, their son or daughter, their brother or sister.
Or maybe that hero…….was your very best friend.
