“Civil Disobedience or a Riot”
Bill Bunkley with Something to Think About
Americans have spent weeks experiencing the COVID 19 stay at home order. Frustration, for some, is manifesting itself in an ugly way by some in major cities across the continent.
We are all outraged by what has occurred on a Minneapolis street whereby a man’s life was taken by excessive force at the knee of a local law enforcement officer.
Reaction quickly drew thousands to the streets of many American cities to protest. Unfortunately, thugs converted these gatherings into riots reminiscent of the Vietnam era. It is painful to see rioters destroy their own neighborhoods by burning and looting the very local businesses, local friends that serve them. It’s just senseless.
Rioting is not Civil Disobedience, reminding us again that two wrongs don’t make a right.
