“The Debt Band-Aid Deal”

Faced with the reaping of years of past sins of unbridled Federal deficit spending, our nation’s leaders are scrambling to pass another temporary band-aid to avoid a financial collapse of our nation’s economy.

Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and Democrat Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer applaud the last-minute deal passed in the U. S House as a triumphal bipartisan achievement. 

Though technically true, it misses the mark of honesty.

We are in this mess because there is no bipartisan agreement for Congress to sit down each year to hammer out a balanced Federal budget, line by line.  

They annually hide behind continuing budget resolutions, rolling over the previous year’s budget.  

Congress, do your job. 

Get back to proposing, debating, and hammering out a deficit-reducing budget each year and every year.
