Dr. Pat Robertson, the founder Christian Broadcasting Network, CBN, went home to be with the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his wife, DeDe.
In 1960 with $3.00 in his pocket, Pat obtained a UHF license to take over a bankrupt, low-power TV station in Portsmouth, VA.
In addition to running for the Republican nomination for the Presidency of the United States, Pat founded CBN, Regent University, Operation Blessing International, the Family Channel, the American Center for Law & Justice, the Christian Coalition, the Founders Inn and Conference Center, and the Flying Hospital.
He was a lifelong supporter of an undivided State of Israel.
Untold millions have come to know the Lord through these ministries.
The New York Times headline noted: “Pat Robertson, Who Gave Christian Conservatives Clout, Dead at the age of 93.”
Bill Bunkley is a 17-year veteran Salem Media talk show host based in Tampa. The Bill Bunkley Show airs weekdays across central Florida from 3 to 6 pm. Bill is also President of the Florida Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, which serves as the legislative consultant to the Florida Baptist State Convention (Southern Baptist Convention Churches), among other churches and entities. He has served as the legislative consultant to the Florida Baptist State Convention for the last 27 years at the state capitol in Tallahassee. By the Grace of his Lord Jesus, he is today a cancer survivor diagnosed in 2018 with AML Leukemia, having successfully undergone a bone marrow transplant that same year. His wife is Toni, son is Zac, and they attend Idlewild Baptist Church.
