Now that Governor DeSantis has recovered from his Israel jet lag, it’s time he grab his hunting rifle, aka his veto pen, and do some turkey hunting.
Florida’s real turkey season ended weeks ago.
I’m talking about the pending state budget and line item spending subject to the axe of the Governor’s veto pen. “Budget Turkey’s” are last minute budget items added by legislators that didn’t go through the committee process.
According to Florida TaxWatch’s 32nd Annual Budget Turkey’s List, there are 109 appropriation turkey’s totaling $133 million. They say cut them from the budget.
Transportation, water, economic opportunity, college and university projects head up this year’s turkey list.
Soon we shall witness another first for the new Governor, his very first turkey hunt.
