Every morning when we rise, a day of brand-new opportunities awaits us. 

The truth is, the Bible tells us we begin each day with a fresh slate, a fresh canvas from all previous days. In those early moments of the dawn, we make a most important choice to set our course for the entire day.

We can either choose a mind of optimism and determination or a sense of negative monotony and discouragement. The choice we embrace will chart our course for the rest of the day.

As our mind thinketh, so will our body take us.

Be on guard to dispatch discouragement from your mind whenever and wherever it rears its ugly head.

With God’s help, you can be an overcomer no matter the challenge that lies before you today.

Running the race of life is a long-distance endurance, not a 100-yard dash.

Bill Bunkley is a 15-year veteran Salem Radio talk show host based in west-central Florida, airing weekdays 3 to 6 pm. Bill is also President of the Florida Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, which serves as legislative consultant to the Florida Baptist State Convention (Southern Baptist Churches throughout Florida), among other churches and entities. He has served as legislative consultant to the Convention for the last 24 years at the state capitol in Tallahassee.
