“Sanity May Soon Return to Female Athletic Competition”
It wasn’t long ago, in the ’60s and ’70s, that Betty Friedan co-founded the National Organization for Women, demanding equal rights for women. It became a powerful force in American life, culture, and politics.
Fast forward to 2023, NOW is today all in for biological males competing against biological women.
NOW has lost touch with the women they had been fighting for.
Evidence of that and the population at large is a new Gallop poll indicating strong opposition to biological males competing against biological women. The survey reveals that 69% say trans athletes should only be allowed to compete on teams that match their birth gender, and only 29% say trans should compete with their new gender selection.
The opposition has been steadily growing over the last two years.
Sanity may soon return to female athletic competition.
Bill Bunkley is a 17-year veteran Salem Media talk show host based in Tampa. The Bill Bunkley Show airs weekdays across central Florida from 3 to 6 pm. Bill is also President of the Florida Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, which serves as the legislative consultant to the Florida Baptist State Convention (Southern Baptist Convention Churches), among other churches and entities. He has served as the legislative consultant to the Florida Baptist State Convention for the last 27 years at the state capitol in Tallahassee. By the Grace of his Lord Jesus, he is today a cancer survivor diagnosed in 2018 with AML Leukemia, having successfully undergone a bone marrow transplant that same year. His wife is Toni, son is Zac, and they attend Idlewild Baptist Church.
