“SpaceX Launches on Wall Street”

Friday was a historic day on Wall Street. The largest initial public offering of stock, commonly known as an IPO, launched on Wall Street. SpaceX is the company, and Elon Musk wants to fly us to the moon, Mars, and probably beyond.

Musk demonstrated that he could accomplish other successful launches, this time by selling stock in his SpaceX company, which immediately earned the distinction of being the largest IPO offered in American history. It was initially offered at $135 per share, with a total valuation of $1.8 trillion. Later in the day, as the stock opened just before noon, investors in the afternoon were trading it at $169 per share, giving it a valuation of $2.22 trillion.

This was a breathtaking day in the markets.
