The countdown is on for July 4th, and the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
My wife and I were delighted and blessed to travel to Washington, D.C. this past weekend to experience the transformed National Mall and the massive Great American State Fair with pavilions from all 50 states and territories.
The large Ferris Wheel anchored the center of the exhibits, and those who stood in line to board got a once-in-a-lifetime overhead view of the entire mall.
The most popular attraction was the live rodeo hosted by the state where my mother’s side of the family hails from, Montana. It was awesome.
And Florida’s pavilion was a top choice as long lines persisted throughout our visit, with our state's popularity on full display.
Up next on the mall, the July 4th fireworks.
