As we go through life, there are many occasions where we or a friend, a loved one has been wronged, or we think a wrong has been committed.
Immediate thoughts of revenge or getting even can dominate our thinking. It can certainly snowball and overtake our emotions as well.
But the truth is that if you retaliate, it never evens the score.
A wise person steps back and realizes that getting even isn’t a healthy alternative.
Forgiveness in your heart and mind is the only healthy response. Avoid raising your blood pressure and anxiety by plotting revenge.
Don’t be a prisoner to another for a real or perceived slight. Most of the time, they’re not aware they have offended you.
Set yourself free by living a life of forgiveness. Life is too brief to carry around a bag of grudges.
