“Painting Over Our American History”
Bill Bunkley with Something to Think About
Historic statutes are under siege. US currency is under fire for asserting a “Trust in God.” Thomas Jefferson’s hometown no longer acknowledges his birthday.
Up next? George Washington.
America’s first president is about to be erased. And this act is very symbolic of the painting over and erasing of our history, good or bad, courtesy of the far left.
San Francisco politicians have ordered an historic, Depression Era mural of the “Life of George Washington”, created by renowned artist Victor Arnautoff, be painted over, erased.
I guess the left believes that by revising, painting over our history will somehow change things for the good. It won’t.
It may well be time to reconsider the depictions of people and periods of our American history, but certainly not to “delete” them.
