“Ceasefire in Gaza: Will it Happen”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been hanging around D.C. this week, waiting to see if a credible deal for a ceasefire with the Gaza Strip’s Hamas terrorist organization will materialize.

Steve Whitkoff, President Trump’s Special Envoy, is in Doha, Qatar, attempting to negotiate an acceptable deal for all parties.

But this is a three-way dance.

President Trump is pushing hard for a ceasefire and the release of the Israeli hostages.

Prime Minister Netanyahu has restated that all the hostages must be released at one time. Israel must finish the job of eliminating Hamas and ensuring no future Gaza governance.   

And Hamas is decimated, but they know the hostages are their only bargaining chip, keeping them from elimination.

The showdown is this weekend for a ceasefire deal: President Trump’s pressure will be decisive.
