“Florida #1 For Protecting Religious Liberty

Bill Bunkley’s “This Is Something to Think About”

Air Date Tuesday, July 15, 2025

Florida is rated #1 for protecting the religious liberty of the state’s residents according to the First Liberty Institute’s Center for Religion, Culture and Democracy.

Florida is an “exemplar for how state legislators can improve their state’s protection of religious liberty,” according to First Liberty’s analysis. They envision democratic societies which affirm the essential role of religious convictions, peoples, and institutions in cultivating free communities where people can flourish.

Governor Ron DeSantis shared, “This is something that is central to the American experiment, it’s central to the way of life, but this is something that has been really been under assault in recent years, particularly over the last decade or so.”

As President of the Florida Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, it’s gratifying to see Florida's recognition.
