“Could We Soon Be Free of Air Travel Restrictions on Liquids

Bill Bunkley’s “This Is Something to Think About”

Air Date Thursday, July 16, 2025

Over the years, we have become accustomed to being hassled by the TSA inspection process every time we want to board a commercial airplane. I can tell you, notwithstanding the Fast Pass and Global Entry process, that working through the cumbersome process can be an exhausting experience.

A few days ago, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced we have been freed from the burden of removing our shoes and trudging around the TSA X Ray machines on dirty airport floors. For that, I say Thank You.

Now, Secretary Noem is hinting that another airline flight announcement may be forthcoming.

Are you like me in that you usually use carry-on bags as opposed to checked bags? Do the liquid restrictions keep you from packing certain items in your carry-on bags?

Well, Noem is hinting that she may loosen those 6-oz liquid restrictions?

That would be especially helpful for many of us who prefer not to check bags due to the size of the liquids.

I'm in.
