History is in the making across the political landscape of the United States of America. The coveted prize of who will assume the highest office in the land in 2025 has taken twists and turns nobody could have predicted just weeks ago.
It is a tale of two candidates. Former President Donald Trump is peaking with extraordinary success and marking unpredictable unity with his Republican party. The other is the quickly fading President Joe Biden, who is plunging among his own Democrat party faithful now coping with the debilitating virus of COVID-19.
One is launching across America with unprecedented momentum. And the other may not make it through the weekend as his party’s Presidential candidate.
The dust has yet to settle; days are counting down. And America is still waiting to measure up the still undecided final combatants.
Bill Bunkley is an 18-year veteran Salem Media talk show host based in Tampa. The Bill Bunkley Show airs weekdays across central Florida from 3 to 6 pm. Bill is also President of the Florida Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, which serves as the legislative consultant to the Florida Baptist State Convention (Southern Baptist Convention Churches), among other churches and entities. He has served as the legislative consultant to the Florida Baptist State Convention for the last 28 years at the state capitol in Tallahassee. By the Grace of his Lord Jesus, he is today a cancer survivor diagnosed in 2018 with AML Leukemia, having successfully undergone a bone marrow transplant that same year. His wife is Toni, son is Zac, and they attend Idlewild Baptist Church.
