Congress has returned from its July recess, and negotiations immediately restarted in earnest regarding a new round of COVID-19 stimulus.
The Republicans will release, with approval from President Trump, another expected $1 Trillion stimulus package. The options considered may include $75 billion to assist public schools reopening, scaled-down federal unemployment assistance, $1,200 cash payment to individuals, extend the Paycheck Protection Program, a payroll tax cut, and a 5-year shield against coronavirus lawsuits.
Remember, the Democrats will be arguing for their far different package.
Either way, the “pause” button Senate Leader McConnell was talking regarding more stimulus before the 4th of July break is no longer a yellow light, but a solid green light.
