Most of Florida’s children will return to school in three weeks. For many moms and dads, it is a day of anticipation as the household schedule returns to normal.
It’s also a time for those additional annual expenses, such as outfitting the children and acquiring all those school supplies.
The Federal Reserve and President Biden’s inflation-increasing policies have hurt the nation’s families. Still, the Florida Legislature is easing that pressure with a sales tax holiday for many items.
Until August 6, individual school supplies items like pens, paper, binders, markers, notebooks, and calculators $50 or less are sales tax-free. Computers, computer accessories, cell phones, video game consoles, and batteries under $ 1,500 are tax-free. Also, individual clothing and footwear under $100 are tax-free.
Every little bit helps.
