Mob rule seems to be an American staple in our contemporary culture.
Don’t like something? Gather a couple dozen of your comrades and take matters into your own hands. Livestream it or post your mob rule on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and get all the fame you’ve been yearning for.
The anti- Confederate mob rule was busy in Durham, North Carolina, pulling down public property by destroying a nearly century old Confederate soldier statute. Locally, vandals hit Hillsborough’s Confederate Memorial Park with red paint, one of many defacements across America.
Fox News contributor Laura Ingram wondered aloud when these flash mobs, in their quest to eradicate any vestige of slave history, would show up next to remove Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello or George Washington’s Mt. Vernon.
Astonishingly, Laura’s notion is not too extreme for the radical fringe elements of our culture.
